Jake turned 24 on April 23! It was such a great day, full of fun: crepes for breakfast, bowling in the afternoon, and a party with family at the end of the day! I started thinking a couple weeks ago about a theme I could do for Jake's party...something FUN and original, but what?! Then, I thought that a perfect theme for his party would be something he loves a lot ... Apple/Mac Birthday party!! It was SO fun planning this party, and keeping all the details a secret until then! Jake was so surprised and excited the moment he saw his cake:
Yep, that is a Macbook cake!! With help from my Mom, we were able to create this awesome cake the night before the party! I kept telling Jake that he would love his cake, and that it was pretty much considered another present - haha!

It was such a FUN day - and man did the birthday boy get spoiled - as he should be!
Then it came time to blow out the 24 candles Jake had on his cake! It took a few of us lighting the candles - I was teasing Jake saying that next year instead of buying 2 packages of 12-pack candles, I am going to have to buy 3! He he!

That cake was freakin awesome! Scott would totally LOVE a cake like that! How hard was it? I might have to get tips on how you did it. His birthday isn't until February, but if I'm really ambitious maybe I'll try to make it for Father's Day. Glad you guys had a fun party!!

@Andi : Here are some tips for you if you are interested in making one! The keyboard was a picture I found, blew up and laminated and layed on the top of the cake. The screen is a screen shot I took using the "grab" feature on the mac, and printed it out and laminated it also. Then I backed that with some silver cardstock with an apple logo sticker! The cake part I just frosted a normal 9x13 inch cake with gray frosting and made a trackpad with a card, and just indented the frosting. Then just pushed a cd in the side. It was SOOO fun, and Jake was in total shock and loved it! You'll have to let me know if you end up making one. :)
