happy birthday sister!

Valentine's Day is not only Valentine's Day in my family, it's also my gorgeous sister Emily's Birthday! Emily turned 21 this year! We celebrated a day early with the fam!

Here's the birthday girl!! Emily and I have always been SOOO close, and we still are! Growing up she was my best friend, and to this day she still is! We talk everyday whether it's on the phone, through texts, on g-chat (which we do EVERY day!) emails, and we visit each other lots and lots! We love to meet up for double dates with our husbands! Emily and I are SO similar, sometimes we like to joke that we were supposed to be twins but I got a little too excited to come, and she wanted to have her own debut a year and a half later! We are just 17 months apart and we LOVE it! Growing up we shared a room our entire lives (we could have moved downstairs but we loved being together) sometimes we would talk late into the night until our parents would come and tell us again that it was time for bed! ha ha! We took dancing lessons together for 13 years, we shared the same clothes, the same hair and make-up supplies, shared the same friends, shared the same car in high school, we were in choir together, performed in Plays together, and LOTS more! We were always known as the "Hawkes girls" and always loved it! I am so happy that to this day Emily and I are so close and that we will stay close FOREVER! We always talk about how someday we are going to live right by each other and by Mom and we are just going to shop and do crafts everyday! Sounds great to us!! She is such an amazing sister, beautiful inside and out. She is such a great example to me and I love her soooo much! She seriously is the best sister EVER, and I am so happy that we are best of friends!

flashback Friday

I've seen a few of my friends do "flashback Friday" posts on their blogs before and I always thought it was a cute idea! While editing some pictures the other day on my computer I came across this cute/funny picture of Emily and I when we were little!

Gotta LOVE it!! Growing up Emily and I were inseparable! We did everything together, and we still talk every single day, I love it! Here we are with our matching outfits, blue tongues, and pony tails! I picked this particular picture because...her birthday is coming up on Valentines Day - the big 21! Yay! 

We are celebrating this weekend, so I will be posting more about Emily and about her birthday festivities this weekend!

P.S. On a cute lovey dovey side note...6 years ago on this day, was my first kiss with my sweetheart Jake! I can't believe that it's been 6 years, time flies by so fast...love you babe!  

birthday's in the month of love

February is a busy month for our family with lots of birthdays! First is my cute sister-in-law Natalie's birthday on February 1st. We celebrated with a fun evening out to Cheesecake Factory - it was delicious!

After Natalie's birthday, we celebrated another sister-in-law's Birthday - Rachel, who's birthday was on February 5th! Happy Birthday Rachel!

And coming up in just a few days...is my sister Emily's birthday, the big 21 on Valentine's Day, the 14th! So you can expect some more birthday cheer here soon!

Dinner with Jimmer

...well...sort of! Last night, we celebrated my sweet sister-in-law Natalie's birthday (yes we share the same name, and I LOVE it!) at Cheesecake Factory.Today is her real birthday, and she and Tyler are celebrating all day together! Happy Birthday Natalie!! We were on our way down to SL and my brother Tyler text my Mom and told us that Jimmer Fredette was there! We were almost there and we were hoping he would stick around so we could see him.

Well, come to find out his cute girlfriend Whitney, was in Emily ward last year in Provo, and Carl was her hometeacher - small world! We got there just as they were leaving so Emily asked her if she wouldn't mind if we took a quick picture with him. She and Jimmer were so sweet and said, Sure!

It was pretty awesome, and he was really nice. It was a fun way to start our night! Go BYU!
